Police hunting two men in 'targeted' early morning attack at Ayrshire house

Police say they're hunting for two men after a 35-year-old was attacked at a house in the early hours of yesterday morning.

We told you earlier today that the attack on the man has left him in a serious condition in hospital.

Now police are hopeful that a nearby resident to Kerrmuir Avenue in Hurlford, where the incident took place, may have seen something.

Cops say that at around 1.35 am, two men, only described as wearing dark clothing, attacked the man in a property before running towards Cessnock Avenue.

The injured man was taken by ambulance to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock where he remains for treatment. Medical staff describe his condition as serious. Enquires in to the incident are ongoing.

Detective Constable Ross Brierley, East Ayrshire CID, said: "Although we believe that this was a targeted attack, a man is in a serious condition in hospital and we have to trace those responsible.

"Kerrmuir Avenue is overseen by a number of houses and I am sure, even though it was early in the morning, that someone will have seen or heard the disturbance or something suspicious.

"If you have any information that may assist police with their enquiries, then please call officers via 101 quoting reference number 0211 of Monday, 16 August, 2021 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
