Police hunting six men after disgraceful football hooligan violence in Ayrshire

Police have released images of six men they'd like to speak to in relation to a serious disturbance in Kilmarnock.

Shameful scenes were played out on the streets of the town following the Kilmarnock v Motherwell clash on Saturday, August 27.

We told you that football hooligans assaulted a barmaid shortly after the game at Rugby Park and spat at customers.

Thousands of pounds worth of damage was caused at the Clansman Bar on John Finnie Street after yobs threw bottles at the pub, smashing windows in the process.

The baying mob targeted the bar and desperate customers barricaded the door with a pool table cover in a bid to keep thugs out of the venue.

Now cops are hunting six individuals that may hold key information which might assist in relation to the serious disturbance.

The first man is described as being of slim build with fair hair, wearing a light blue jumper, checked shirt, and dark jeans.

The second man is described as being of stocky build with dark hair, wearing an orange Stone Island T-shirt, black shorts, and burgundy Adidas trainers.

The third man is described as being of slim build with fair hair, wearing a white T-shirt with dark trousers.

The fourth man is described as being of slim build with short hair, wearing a black jumper, blue jeans, a silk scarf, and sunglasses with orange lenses.

The fifth man is described as wearing a black T-shirt with yellow accents, a blue jacket tied around his body, black trousers, and burgundy trainers with yellow accents.

The sixth man is described as of stocky build with brown hair, wearing a black T- shirt, and a dark jacket.

Clansman owner Mari Borland said in August: "A younger boy, who was walking himself, got jumped by a group of fans so our barmaid went out to move them away from the boy.

"Then more and more came and by this point they were trying to get in the pub.

Pub bosses say the damage will cost the thousands to repair (Submitted/Kilmarnock Standard)

"They were throwing bottles in, smashing windows and spitting at people.

"The barmaid also got hit trying to keep them out.

"At one point our customers were barricading the door with the pool table cover.

"If a couple of boys hadn’t been in the pub to stop them it would be a different story."

Thankfully, the barmaid was okay after the attack, the pub boss confirmed.
