Police hunting man who ran down Leeds railway tracks causing £67,000 delays

Police are on the hunt for a trespasser who ran down railway tracks and caused such severe delays and disruption it cost the network £67,000.

Shortly before 10pm on June 12, a man walked off the end of platform 17 at Leeds train station and onto the tracks.

He then ran down the tracks westbound toward Copley Hill Junction.

British Transport Police have released CCTV images of a man who may have information which could help their investigation.

Anyone who recognises this man is asked to contact police (British Transport Police)

A spokesperson said: "Officers investigating a trespass incident near Leeds railway station which caused significant delays are today releasing CCTV images in connection.

"The incident caused severe delays to passengers, costing the railway £67,000."
