Police hunting gunman after shots are fired at window and door of a house

Police are hunting for a gunman after shots were fired at a house in Rochdale on Sunday evening.

Detectives believe that two shots were fired at the window and door of a house on Hill Top Drive just after 5.50pm on March 27. No-one was injured and no arrests have been made.

Now, cops are asking for witnesses to come forward to aid their investigation into what GMP says is an 'isolated' incident. Detective Sergeant Richard Mills, from Rochdale CID, also recognised the 'concern' it has caused.

He said: "This will no doubt have caused some concern in the community but I'd like to reassure those nearby that we immediately launched an investigation and we're doing all we can to piece together who was involved.

"We believe this to have been an isolated incident and we're already following up a number of lines of enquiry to piece the investigation together."

Ward councillor Daniel Meredith described the events as 'an alarming incident', adding: "We will continue to work with the police to help bring the community together."

Anyone who has any information or may have seen anything is asked to report it online or via LiveChat at www.gmp.police.uk.

Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
