Police hunting for wanted Wigan man who breached his licence

Police are asking for the public's help to find a man from Wigan who is wanted after breaching his licence.

Ben Hoofe, 34, was released from prison in January this year, but officers have now recalled him to prison after he breached the conditions of his release licence.

Hoofe was jailed for 16 months in April 2020 for assault causing actual bodily harm, and breaching a restraining order that prevented him from contacting his ex-partner.

Prisoners sentenced to between 12 months and four years in prison may be released early on licence - a set of conditions that they must follow.

After breaching these terms, Hoofe's probation officer has ordered his return to prison.

He is known to have links to the Wigan area, as well as St Helens, Merseyside, and Cumbria.

Anybody who knows where Ben Hoofe is should contact Police on 0161 856 3622.

Alternatively, the independent charity Crimestoppers, can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
