Police hunting for missing Glasgow woman on Isle of Wight search large creek

Cops hunting for a Glasgow woman have searched a creek on the Isle of Wight.

It comes after Hampshire Constabulary revealed the disappearance of Rosie Johnson, a holiday camp worker, is not being treated as a crime.

Search teams including coastguards were focused their efforts on a body of water near where the University of Glasgow graduate was last seen.

The lead cop revealed the 22-year-old was "not the victim of crime" and said the force were "seriously concerned" for her safety.

Rosie was last seen on Sunday evening in the Wooton area of the island, off the south coast of England.

She is the niece of Daniel Johnson, Labour MSP for Edinburgh Southern.

Mr Johnson wrote on Twitter: "My niece, Rosie, is missing.

"Could anyone with information please contact the @IOWightPolice".

She had been working at the Little Canada Adventure Centre and police have said they have 'serious concerns' for her welfare, as she left without a phone or purse.

Inspector Andy MacDonald: "At this moment in time the information we have available to us says Rosie has not been the victim of crime.

"I'm not in a position at this moment to tell you what her state of mind was on Sunday evening.

"We currently do not know her whereabouts and are seriously concerned for her welfare."

"Information we have suggests Rosie is still on the Isle of Wight currently.

"The search started on Monday and we undertook a more extensive search on Tuesday."
