Police hunting flasher arrest and charge man after incidents in Montrose woods

A man has been arrested and charged after a spate of flashing incidents in Angus.

Police confirmed three 'incidents of indecent exposure', all of which took place in Montrose.

A flasher exposed themselves in the town on February 20 and a second time on February 26

This came after an incident was reported at Kinnaber Woods in Montrose in September 2020.

On Wednesday police confirmed that a 29-year-old man had been charged with all three offences.

He was arrested in Aberdeen in connection with the two offences that took place in February.

The man was released on an undertaking to appear at Forfar Sheriff Court in May.

Police probing the incidents thanked members of the public who helped officers with their investigation.

A spokesperson from Tayside Police Division said: "We can confirm that a 29-year-old man was arrested in Aberdeen this morning in connection with two incidents of indecent exposure in Montrose on February 20 and 26.

"He was charged with these offences, along with another indecent exposure at Kinnaber Woods, Montrose in September 2020, and released on an undertaking to appear at Forfar Sheriff Court next month.

"Our appeals for information regarding these incidents led to a number of responses from members of the public, and the officers who dealt with this enquiry would like to thank everyone in the Montrose area who called in with information."
