Police hunting driver who shouted homophobic abuse at another driver in Bishop Auckland car park

Police are hunting a driver who shouted homophobic abuse at another driver in a County Durham car park.

The incident occurred between 7.45pm and 8.20pm on March 22 on the A68, Brusselton Way, in Bishop Auckland.

It is believed a grey/silver vehicle, which was described as being extremely dirty, followed the victim's vehicle from Brusselton Way into a car park on Darlington Road.

The driver then got out of his car and shouted homophobic language at the victim before leaving the scene.

The suspect is described as being of large build wearing a body warmer and wellies.

Durham Constabulary officers are now keen to speak to anyone who saw the vehicle at the time of the incident or prior.

They are also appealing for anyone who may have dashcam footage to get in touch.

Please call PC Shannon Inglis from Bishop Auckland response on 101 with any information.
