Police hunting BMW driver who rammed into parked cars on North Shields street

A BMW driver crashed into several parked cars in a late night rampage in North Shields.

It is believed that four cars were damaged on North King Street in North Shields as a white BMW sped through the street just after 10pm on Thursday.

A grey Skoda parked on the road was severely damaged with a crumpled bonnet and smashed lights.

Police officers say they are working to find the driver who did not stop at the scene.

Any witnesses are asked to ring police as they continue their investigation.

A spokesperson for Northumbria Police said: "At 10.12pm on Thursday police received a report that a car had collided with a number of parked cars on North King Street in North Shields and then made off from the scene.

"Emergency services attended and found that a white BMW had been driving at speed on the street and hit the stationary vehicles but they did not stop at the scene.

"Inquiries to locate the vehicle are ongoing but anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting log 1157 07/11/19."
