Police hunt yobs who torched car in Irvine street

Police in Ayrshire are appealing for information after a car was deliberately set on fire in Irvine.

The incident happened in Bowmore Court around 9.40pm on Sunday, 8 March, 2020. Two men approached a white Kia Sportage and set the back of the car on fire before running in the direction of Littlestane Road. Nobody was injured.

The first suspect is described as wearing light coloured trousers with a dark top.

The second suspect is described as wearing dark trousers, dark top and a dark hat.

Detective Constable Sarah Holland, of Saltcoats CID, said: "We believe this was a targeted attack and we're appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident to contact us.

"Similarly, if anyone saw two men matching that description acting suspiciously shortly before or after the incident, please contact us."

Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting incident number 3606 or Crimestoppers where anonymity can be maintained on 0800 555 111.
