Police hunt VW Golf that was involved in crash that left learner driver 'very distressed'

Police are searching for a vehicle which officers say smashed into a learner driver.

The silver VW Golf collided with a female learner driver “who was left very distressed” during the incident on Coal Pit Lane in Oldham on Tuesday afternoon (July 7), police say.

The same car - with the registration NA53 JHJ - had also failed to stop for officers in Failsworth on Monday (July 6), Greater Manchester Police said.

Officers reported on social media that the “drivers will be reported for the offences” but said officers are still looking for the vehicle.

It is not clear from the post if anyone has been arrested.

A post on the GMP Failsworth & Hollinwood Facebook page read: “A VW silver golf registration NA53 JHJ was involved in a fail to stop collision on Coal Pit Lane this afternoon.

“The vehicle it collided with was being driven by a female learner driver who was left very distressed. This vehicle also failed to stop for Police in Failsworth yesterday.

“The drivers will be reported for the offences but we are seeking the publics help to locate the vehicle and get it off the road before there is a serious accident.
