CCTV has been released showing three saltwater crocodiles pushed through a broken window at an Australian school.
The incident took place at Taminmin College, located in the Northern Territory town of Humpty Doo.
The largest crocodile was 2m long and it is not known why they were let loose.
Luke McClaren, a wildlife ranger, told a local radio station that the crocodiles were found in a poor condition.
"Basically skin and bones, not much meat left on them; they were really quiet and easy to catch," he said.
"Really poor skin condition, like they haven't been kept in water for quite a while, haven't been fed, and one of them looked to be blind (as a result of neglect)."
It is likely the crocodiles will have to be put down.
Saltwater crocodiles are a protected species and interfering with them is a criminal offence.
People caught interfering with protected wildlife can face fines of up to $77,000 or a jail term of up to five years.
