Police hunt thugs who push pregnant lady “to the ground” in Bishopbriggs attack

Police have launched a search for young thugs who are reported to have launched an attack on a pregnant woman and her husband in Bishopbriggs on Sunday night.

According to reports on social media, around six young people were involved in the incident which took place near Morrisons in the Kirkintilloch Road area of the town at around 6.50pm on Sunday.

They are alleged to have thrown eggs at the man's van, before pushing the woman to the ground.

Police are now appealing for witnesses, and for anyone who has recorded footage of the attack to get in touch.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6.50pm on Sunday, 27 September, officers were called to the Kirkintilloch Road area of Bishopbriggs, following a report of a man and a woman being assaulted by a number of youths.

"Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
