Police are hunting a thug who chucked a 'mystery liquid' onto a Audi driver.
The bizarre assault happened around 11.45am on Thursday in Galasheils.
Officers have launched a probe after the male driver of a small white car threw the substance onto the male driver of a grey Audi A3 motor car.
The suspect is believed to have been in a 64 plate Renault Kangoo or Peugeot.
The victim was not injured after the incident happened at the layby at Ladhope.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "The suspect is described as a white male, around 30 years old, about 5ft10 in height, stocky build, having short ginger hair and a ginger beard.
"He was wearing black work type trousers, high visibility jumper with a hood and black trainers and spoke with a Scottish accent.
"The suspect was with a male passenger at the time of the incident."
