The 34-year-old victim was pounced on by a man in Eastern Avenue, at its junction with The Roundel, Largs at around 6.45am on Sunday, November 17.

Police say she was approached from behind, forced to the ground and robbed of a three-figure sum of cash. The thug then kicked her about the body before making off.

He is described as being around 5ft 8 and was wearing dark clothing and gloves.

The woman attended Inverclyde Royal Hospital where she was treated before being released.
