Police in Wishaw are hunting thiefs who stole generators from a site worth thousands of pounds.

Officers are keen to trace the crooks who broke into the ScottishPower electrical sub-station in Castlehill Road in Gowkthrapple between 6pm and 10pm on Thursday, February 11.

The thiefs cut the fencing and once inside stole three generators which police described as “worth thousands of pounds each”.

Inspector Stevie Murray, from Wishaw Police Office, said: “Officers are currently checking CCTV however we would appeal to anyone who may have seen something on that night to come forward and provide us with information.”

Anyone with information regarding this incident should contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
