Police hunt supermarket queue-jumper who threw butter at pensioner's face

Police are hunting a supermarket queue-jumper who threw a tub of butter in a pensioner’s face when she confronted him.

The 74-year-old was left with severe bruising and swelling to her lip after the assault at a Co-op store in Eynsham, Oxfordshire.

She had been waiting in a queue when a man pushed in front of her, police said. She pointed out the queue to him and he responded by lobbing the butter at her face.

Thames Valley Police released a CCTV image of a large man they want to speak to in connection ith the assault on Saturday, October 21 at around 12.40pm.

Investigating officer PC Sarah Tibble said: “I would like to speak to anyone who recognises the man in this image as he might have vital information relating to this incident.

“If you know this man, or have any information as to his whereabouts, please call the Thames Valley Police non-emergency number on 101.”

Anyone with information can also call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
