A sex attacker is being hunted by police after eight separate assaults in the Clapham area of south London.

All sexual assaults have taken place on white women aged between 20 and 30 who have been walking home after dark between 7pm and 2am.

The man is believed to be behind eight separate sexual assaults in south London

Police are now linking the cases after three separate attacks happened last Monday.

The first incident was believed to have happened on Friday 9 October where the victim ran off after she raised the alarm; the latest occurred on Wednesday.

The man has been described by all victims as Mediterranean or Middle-eastern with dark hair.

Detective Sergeant Gordon Barclay who is leading the investigation said: “It would appear that the suspect is targeting lone females at night and is operating in the areas of Brixton Hill and Clapham.”

“Lambeth police would like to advise women to remain vigilant when travelling at night.”

“The CCTV and the still are of good quality and we are confident that someone will be able to identify this particular man. I urge anyone with information about these incidents to call us urgently.”

Superintendent Rob Applegarth of Lambeth borough said: “We have increased police patrols in Clapham and Brixton Hill and urge women to think of their personal safety.”

“We are also releasing CCTV and an image of a man we would now like to speak to in connection with these incidents.”

Anyone with information or witnesses should call the Metropolitan Police Service on the non-emergency line of 101. In the event of an emergency call 999.
