Police hunt robber who pulled gun on newsagent staff and stuffed cash into a bin-bag

A man threatened newsagent staff with a gun in a terrifying robbery.

The armed raider fled the scene after stuffing cash into a black bin bag at McColl's in Admirals Road in Birchwood, Warrington , at 10.35pm on Friday (March 22).

Cheshire Police are on the hunt for a white man, of medium build and around 5ft8, who was wearing a dark jacket with the hood up and gloves during the robbery .

The force said the man pointed the " firearm " at staff and made threats while demanding they open the till. 

He then filled a black-bin bag with the contents of the till and left the shop.

Detective Sergeant Darren Reid, of Warrington CID, said: "We’re really keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at the time or anyone who may have information which could help with our investigation.
