Police hunt owner of out-of-control Bulldog which attacked Boxer in Midlothian

Police are trying to track down the owner of a Bulldog which attacked another dog which was out for a walk in Midlothian.

A Boxer called Rudi was bitten during the attack on the old railway path near Armine Place in Penicuik around 11am on Monday.

Owner Sonia Hood posted on Facebook saying Rudi had needed treatment from a vet after the incident.

She said: "My priorities at the time were getting her to a vet, the dog that bit her was a Bulldog type.

 

"Its owner, a stocky built guy, was pulled off his feet by his dog and he just couldn't get it to let Rudi go.

"He told me his dog was a rescue dog and it had been used for dog fighting."

Police are trying to find the owner of a the Bulldog, described as a man in his 40s who wore a dark jachket with a white T-shirt underneath.

The Bulldog was brown and white coloured.

Police Scotland said: "We are keen to trace the owner and other dog involved, as well a female dog walker believed to have witnessed the incident and are appealing for them to come forward and contact police.

"Anyone who has information in relation to the incident is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 1723, 10th February 2020."
