Police hunt offender responsible for 'brazen' acid attack in Moss Side

Detectives are hunting the person responsible for a 'brazen' acid attack in Moss Side.

A 28-year-old man was sprayed with the substance on Great Western Street at about 6.40pm yesterday.

He has since been discharged from hospital, and police say his injuries are 'not deemed to be life-changing'.

No arrests have been made, and officers are appealing for help.

Police said the victim was approached by a man wearing a 'camouflage jacket' before the attack.

They say the offender fled on foot down nearby Acomb Street in the direction of Kippax Street.

Officers have described the incident as an 'isolated attack'.

Detective Inspector Peter Morley, of GMP's City of Manchester division said: "Thankfully the victim has been discharged from hospital and we wish him a speedy recovery.

"This was a brazen attack which could have had life-altering consequences and we’re appealing to anyone with any information to come forward and speak with police.
