Police hunt missing Scots rapist as public warned not to approach

Police are hunting a missing Scots rapist after he vanished from Dumbarton.

The public have been warned not to approach missing Ross Wight who was last seen at 2pm on Wednesday, October 13 in Brucehill Road.

The 26-year-old was found guilty of putting a young mum through a sickening ordeal in 2014.

Creepy Wright had forced himself on the victim at a party after being let out of jail early.

The depraved rapist had been given a 16-month detention term in March 2013 for attacking a disabled man with a bottle in a kebab shop.

He was freed in November after serving only half his sentence and raped the mum in May 2014.

Now police are searching for the sex beast is believed to have visited a number of places including Helensburgh, Blantyre and Glasgow City Centre.

Ross is described as white, around 5ft 11in tall with short brown hair.

Police enquiries have identified Ross from CCTV wearing a red coloured hooded top and grey jogging bottoms in Glasgow City Centre on Saturday, October 16.

Inspector Samantha Glasgow said: “We want to trace Ross as quickly as possible and I’d be interested to hear from anyone who has seen or spoken to him since last Friday, October 15.

“The public should not approach Ross but should report any sightings to Police Scotland immediately."

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting incident number 2010 of the 13/10/2021 or speak to any officer. Alternatively, they can report anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
