Police hunt man involved in attempted robbery at Dumbarton shop

Police are hunting a man involved in a robbery at a shop in Dumbarton.

The culprit entered the McColls store on Glasgow Road at around 4.15pm yesterday (Sunday) and threatened staff.

Fortunately no-one was injured although workers are said to be shocked by the incident.

Officers are appealing for information with Detective Sergeant Ian Evans saying: “A man described as being 5ft 8in tall, of stocky build, entered the shop and threatened staff.  They were unhurt during the incident, but shocked.

“He was wearing dark trousers and dark jacket with his face covered.

“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time who witnessed anything suspicious, or who has information that will assist this investigation to contact us through 101 quoting reference number 2207 of Sunday, December 13. Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
