Police hunt man after Nicolson Street attack landed 30-year-old in hospital

Police in Edinburgh have released CCTV images of a man they believe may be able to help with their ongoing investigation in relation to an assault that occurred on Nicolson Street, Edinburgh.

The incident happened around 2.30pm on Friday, 17 January, 2020 during which a 30-year- old man was assaulted and required hospital treatment as a result.

Officers believe that the man in the images may be able to help with their ongoing enquiries into the incident. He, or anyone who recognises him, is asked to come forward. He is shown in the image as wearing a black jacket, black trousers and brown shoes.

Detective Constable Christina Yeoman, of Gayfield CID, said: “Nicolson Street would have been busy at the time of this incident. We are appealing to members of the public who recognise the person in this image, or who have information that may assist with our enquiries, to get in touch.

“Anyone with information can contact Gayfield CID via 101, quoting incident number 2133 of the 17 January 2020 or an anonymous report can be made to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
