Police hunt man after bus set on fire outside Euston train station

Police are trying to trace a man after a bus was set on fire outside Euston Railway Station in central London.

A man started a fire on the top deck of the Route 273 bus around 12.30pm on June 12, as it was parked outside the busy station.

On Thursday, more than six months on from the suspected arson attack, Scotland Yard issued a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to.

"Officers have carried out a number of enquiries since the incident and are now asking for the public's help to name the man in this image," said a spokesperson.

Detective Inspector Jonathan Potter, from the Roads and Transport Policing Command, said it was "sheer luck" that nobody was injured in the fire.

"This was an extremely reckless act which could have resulted in somebody being seriously hurt," he said.

"I would urge anyone who recognised the man in the image to contact us immediately."
