Police hunt man after 13-year-old girl dragged across road and sexually assaulted in south London

Police are hunting a man after a 13-year-old girl was dragged along a road and sexually assaulted in south London.

Officers said the girl was approached by a man just before 7am on November 21 last year as she walked along Norfolk Road in Thornton Heath.

The suspect grabbed the girl, dragged her along the road and sexually assaulted her, police said.

She managed to escape following a struggle, they added.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5ft 6ins tall, hair in cornrows. He was wearing a black puffer jacket, grey trousers and black shoes at the time of the offence.

Police have released an image of a man they want to identify.

Detective Constable Penelope Rea investigating said: “I am very keen to hear from anyone who can identify the male in the picture.

“If you think you have seen this male or know who he is please get in touch.

“Your call could remove a criminal from your area or you could help eliminate someone from our enquiries.”

The child is being supported by specially trained officers.
