Police hunt hit and run driver that left Edinburgh schoolboy, 6, with facial injuries

Police are hunting the driver who left a schoolboy with facial injuries in a hit and run collision.

The incident took place on the capital's West Approach Road at around 4:45pm on Friday (7 November).

A six-year-old boy was left with facial injuries as a result of the collision, say police.

The driver, who was behind the wheel of a grey Skoda, failed to stop at the scene after striking the pedestrian.

In a statement, Police Scotland said: "Edinburgh Road Police are appealing for witnesses following a hit and run collision that occurred on the West Approach Road, Edinburgh, around 16:45hrs today.

"A 6 year old pedestrian sustained facial injuries and the driver of a grey Skoda failed to stop at the scene."
