Police hunt gang of males after deliberate fire at Hillington Industrial Estate

Emergency services rushed to a blaze at Hillington Industrial Estate last night (Saturday).

The rubbish fire was reported at around 10.15pm on Saturday, May 11, outside the front of Mr Deng’s Home Improvement Warehouse in Barrie Road.

Police have now launched an investigation, following enquiries, have discovered there were five males hanging about the area, one of whom deliberately started the blaze.

The fire was extinguished and no-one was injured, although there was heavy smoke damage to the premises.

All of the suspects were described as "thin built".

Detective Constable Jamie Howarth at Paisley CID said: “This was a very senseless and reckless act to carry out and thankfully no-one was hurt.

“I urge anyone who saw the group of males hanging around the area or anyone who knows their identity to contact police at Paisley via telephone number 101."

The first male was wearing a black hooded top, black shorts and dark trainers; the second was wearing a blue tracksuit top with a white stripe on the back and dark trousers; the third was wearing a dark top and red trousers while the fourth and fifth were wearing dark coloured tracksuits.
