Police hunt for youths responsible for blaze at Loretto playing fields in Musselburgh

Police in East Lothian are appealing for information after a group of youths deliberately started a fire in Musselburgh.

The blaze took place at Loretto School playing fields, Mountjoy Terrace, Musselburgh at around 9.15pm on Saturday 13th June.

Dramatic images released by police show the playing fields of Loretto School, an independent boarding school, engulfed in flames.

Police Scotland say youths ran off toward the Brunton Hall Theatre on Musselburgh's Lady Well Way after starting the fire.

The image also appears to show sports equipment in the fields surrounding the fire.
