Police hunt for woman accused of south Canberra break-in

Police are looking for a woman accused of a break-in in Canberra after her alleged accomplice was arrested at the South Coast on Monday, August 17.

ACT Policing alleges two women were involved in a burglary in Denman Prospect on Sunday, August 16, and stole keys to a car parked in the home's garage.

Police have released images of the wanted woman and a blue Nissan Pulsar reported stolen from Ngunnawal. Pictures supplied

It is alleged one woman was waiting in a blue Nissan Pulsar outside the home while the other entered the resident's vehicle intending to steal it.

Investigators said the Denman Prospect resident followed the woman into the garage and confronted her, forcing the alleged burglar to leave the scene.

Police believe both women left the location in the blue vehicle, with ACT registration plates YLF84V, which had been reported stolen from Ngunnawal the previous day, August 15.

On Tuesday, August 18, investigators said one of the accused women was arrested in Batemans Bay and would be brought back to Canberra to face the ACT Magistrates Court.

ACT Policing released details about the second woman, described as Caucasian in appearance with a fair complexion and long white-blonde hair, in a public appeal to identify her.

Anyone who could help police in identifying the wanted woman has been asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 quoting 8473021.
