Police hunt for witnesses after vandal smashes up car with a tyre wrench in broad daylight

Police in East Lothian are on the hunt for a vandal who trashed a car in Prestonpans last month.

At about 5.30pm on 14th September the yellow Vauxhall Astra pictured was parked secured and undamaged on Redburn Road at its junction with South Grange Avenue when a man approached it and smashed all of the car windows.

A police spokesperson said:

"Following enquiries it would appear that several witnesses have then seen a male, described as white, mid 20’s, 5`8" tall, medium build, short dark hair, wearing dark clothing, approach the vehicle and then proceed to smash all the windows with a tyre wrench or similar.

"Anybody with information relating to this are being urged to call 101 quoting incident number 3029 of the 14/09/20.

"Alternatively they can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 11"
