Police hunt for witnesses after Newbridge 'hit and run' left debris all over the road

Police Scotland have appealed for witnesses after an alleged hit and run on Monday (September 14).

According to officers, the collision occurred on the M9 at around 10.15am next to the junction at Newbridge.

One lane of the motorway was forced to close after the incident due to debris on the carriageway, however the road has now completely reopened.

After the collision emergency services rushed to the scene which has now been declared as an alleged hit and run.

With an investigation now launched into the event, police are looking for anyone who may have seen the crash occur.

Vehicles who may have passed the scene and will have dash cam footage have also been asked to come forward.

In a social media post by Edinburgh Police, it read:

"We are looking for witnesses to a suspected hit and run collision that happened on the M9 at Newbridge yesterday, 14th September 2020 at around 1015hrs.

"If you saw the incident or have dashcam footage, please contact us on 101 and quote incident number 0946 14/09/2020."
