Police hunt for teenager who attacked man in his 70s leaving him on the ground in Rochdale

Police are hunting for a teenager who attacked a man in his 70s leaving him on the ground.

The assault took place near to the Londis Store, on Halifax Road, in Rochdale, on Saturday, March 30.

A teenager, thought to be aged between 15 to 19, attacked the elderly man at around 5.15pm.

The victim, aged in his 70s, fell to the ground as a result which caused bruising to his face.

Police are searching for the teenager, who is described as Asian and around 5ft 7ins tall.

He has short black hair and is of a slim build.

The teenager was wearing a black jumper and blue jeans during the time of the incident.

Greater Manchester Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with further information to come forward.

Anyone with any information about the assault should contact police on 0161 856 4557 or 101 quoting incident number 1777 of 30/3/19. 

Information can be passed on anonymously by calling the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
