Police hunt for sex attacker after woman, 30, assaulted following Notting Hill Carnival

Suspect: police are trying to trace this man (Picture: Metropolitan Police)

Detectives are hunting for a man who sexually assaulted a woman as she made her way home from Notting Hill Carnival last summer.

Police have released a CCTV image of the man they are trying to trace in connection to the assault on August 26.

The victim, 30, was travelling on a bus from the west London event towards Vauxhall when her attacker bordered the vehicle.

They both left the bus, the Route 2, in the Pimlico area before the man launched his attack in a communal garden.

The woman had pushed the man away before he said “come with me”, Scotland Yard said.

Following the attack, the victim then ran away and got on to another bus.

The suspect spoke with an Asian accent and appeared to be wearing a religious skull cap, officers said.

Anyone with information that could assist police is asked to call 101 referencing CAD 3349/27 Aug 18. Alternatively, tweet @MetCC or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
