Police hunt for missing pensioner who disappeared after boarding train

Update: Jean Jones has now been found safe and well.

Police are searching for a missing pensioner who disappeared after boarding a train.

Jean Jones, 70, was last seen at Aintree Train Station at 2.51pm on Friday, September 25.

In a statement Merseyside Police appealed to the public for help in finding Jean, from Aintree, who is also known in the areas of Ormskirk, Lancaster, Bolton-le-Sands and Carnforth.

The 70-year-old is described as white, 5ft 4in tall, with grey hair.

She was last seen wearing a coral pink coat, dark trousers and black shoes.

Photos show Jean at the train station, when she was seen to be pulling a wheeled suitcase.

A spokesperson from Merseyside Police said: "Can you help? We're looking for missing Aintree lady Jean Jones.

"Jean, aged 70 was last seen to board a train at Aintree Train Station at 2.51pm today, Friday 25 September.

"Jean is white, 5ft 4in, of slim build, with grey hair, glasses, and wearing a
coral pink coat, dark trousers and black shoes.

"She was seen to be pulling a wheeled suitcase. She is know in Aintree, Ormskirk, Lancaster,
Bolton-le-Sands and Carnforth.

"Please contact us via 101 or @MerPolCC with any information or sightings. You can also contact the charity Missing People on 116 000."
