An investigation is underway following reports of men with weapons fighting in a residential street in Eastwood.

The incident happened in Princes Street at around 4.50pm on Tuesday, January 19, but Nottinghamshire Police is yet to make any arrests.

A member of the public reported seeing a number of people fighting with weapons in the street.

Inspector Simon Riley, district commander for Broxtowe, said: "Fighting and disorder such as this is totally unacceptable and we will always look to take action against those who commit such offences.

"Officers were swiftly on the scene, but could not find any individuals believed to have been responsible for the violence in the area, at that time.

"We are now conducting an investigation and we are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

"No arrests have been made at this time, but we are appealing for anyone who witnessed the event or anyone who has any information to please come talk to us.

"If you can help with our investigation please call 101, quoting incident number 461 of 19 January 2021."
