Police hunt for man who 'escaped from officers' whilst being treated at hospital

A police hunt has been launched for a man who 'escaped from officers' whilst being treated at a hospital.

The public are being asked not to approach Richard Kane if they see him, but call 999 immediately.

Greater Manchester Police say he's 'wanted' for escaping from lawful custody.

He was last seen at North Manchester General Hospital in Crumpsall.

Kane is 33 and is known to have links to north Manchester, GMP added.

In a brief statement, the force said Kane 'escaped from officers earlier this afternoon - September 20 - whilst being treated at North Manchester General Hospital'.

The force said: "He is wanted for escaping from lawful custody.

"Kane is known to have links to the north Manchester area.

"Anyone who sees him is asked not to approach him and to call 999."
