Police hunt for man accused of sexually abusing 12-year-old girl on Paisley bus

Police have issued a warrant for the arrest of a man accused of sexually assaulting a minor on a bus in Paisley.

It is claimed that Graeme Bews abused a young girl on a bus in the Renfrewshire town.

The Daily Record reports Bews, 37, is said to have committed the offence against the 12-year-old while on the bus on October 22 last year.

He is alleged to have repeatedly touched her on the body and touched her on the face, which is in breach of Section 20 of the Sexual Offences (Scotland) Act 2009.

Paisley man Bews was due to go on trial at Paisley Sheriff Court yesterday.

However he did not attend and Sheriff Sukhwinder Gill granted a warrant for failure to appear at court.

The case against Bews will resume when he is detained by Police Scotland.
