Police hunt for black Audi A8 after double shooting in Top Valley

Detectives investigating a double shooting in Top Valley have released the description of a car believed to be linked to the incident.

It is thought that a black Audi A8 was driven in Hucknall Road and Moor Bridge in the Bulwell and Top Valley areas at around midnight on the evening on Tuesday, June 16.

Nottinghamshire Police are exploring the idea that the incident, which resulted in two men being hospitalised with single gunshot wounds to their legs, may have happened within the car.

One of the men has since been discharged from hospital.

The other is still receiving treatment for injuries that are neither life-threatening or life-altering.

Detective Inspector Ruby Burrow, who is leading the investigation, said: “This incident was an isolated, targeted attack and we believe that the victims and suspects were known to one another.

"We are not linking it to any wider criminal activity at this moment in time.

“While we are exploring a number of lines of enquiry, including looking at CCTV in the area, we are in a position where we believe a black Audi A8 was used in the incident.

“We are not looking to locate the car as it has been recovered as part of our investigation, we are looking for the public’s help in coming forward with any information that they have that could aid our investigation into the attack.

“If you saw or heard something, no matter how trivial you think it may be, you could hold vital information that could help us find who did this.

“We are working tirelessly to establish the circumstances around this incident and we will do everything we can to find those responsible.”

Armed police attended the scene at Hucknall Road in Top Valley just before midnight on Tuesday, June 16.

Multiple police cordons were set up across the Top Valley, Bestwood and Bulwell areas as detectives launched an investigation.

Shocked residents described the incident as "like living in a western again", while evidence markers were placed on the ground where pools of blood had been found.

Police have since confirmed that cordons have been lifted in the area and roads are now open.

If you have any information or spotted the car in the area at around midnight on Tuesday, June 16, please contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 912.
