Police hunt firebugs who torched former popular restaurant

Police are appealing for the public's help to find firebugs who torched a derelict Ayrshire restuarant.

The former Corran Inn, at 45 Jacks Road, Saltcoats was set alight between 9pm and 9.20pm last night.

Cops say it was torched deliberately and are appealing for information and witnesses.

Inspector Alison Wilson of North Ayrshire Locality Policing Team said: "Enquiries are ongoing into this incident which is very concerning within the local area.

I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident, suspicious activity or has any information to come forward"

Anyone with information is asked to contact officers at Saltcoats Police Office via 101 quoting incident number 3675 of 4th February.
