Police hunt firebugs after Hamilton home has front door deliberately set alight during early morning attack

A police probe has been launched after the front door of a Hamilton home was deliberately set on fire during a terrifying attack.

The occupants of the house on Laighstonehall Road were woken up at 4am on Friday, December 4, and discovered the blaze.

Thankfully no one was injured as a result of the reckless attack.

Officers investigating the wilful fire raising are appealing for witnesses in a bid to find the person responsible.

Detective Constable Chelsea Stevens of Cambuslang Police Office said : “The occupants were in their home at the time of the fire, but thankfully no-one was injured.

“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time who witnessed anything suspicious, or who has information that will assist this investigation to contact us through 101 quoting reference number 0313 of 4 December.

“Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
