Police hunt driver after early morning fail to stop crash in Bristol

Police are hunting a driver who fled after crashing into a car in Bristol early today (Monday, June 8).

The incident happened at around 4.20am in Summerhill Road, in St George, where a parked was damaged after being hit by the driver of a silver Peugeot

The driver left the scene before police arrived. No-one was injured in the crash.

Avon and Somerset Police road policing unit issued a tweet following the accident, warning the culprit would be found.

The tweet said: “Another fail to stop collision in Bristol.

“Incredible how people cause so much destruction and then run away from it.

“Enquiries ongoing to identify the driver of the Peugeot.

A police spokesman said: "We were called to reports of a crash in Summerhill Road, in Bristol, this morning shortly after 4.20am.

"A silver Peugeot was reported to have been involved in a collision with a parked vehicle.

"The driver left the scene before police arrived and there were no reported injuries.

"Anyone with information about the incident should report it online or call 101 and give the call-handler reference 5220124295."
