Police hunt driver after car found on fire in posh Glasgow street

Police are on the hunt for a driver after a car was found on fire in a plush Glasgow street.

Officers were called to Monreith Road, in the city's Newlands area, in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Firefighters were also called to extinguish the torched vehicle.

And police are now trying to trace the driver.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police were called around 12.25am on Saturday, 31 October, 2020, following the report of a vehicle on fire on Monreith Road, Glasgow.

"The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service attended and extinguished the fire safely.

"The fire is not being treated as suspicious and enquiries are ongoing to trace the driver of the vehicle."
