Police hunt crooks who swiped over £1,600 of medicine from Scots Co-op stores

Police are hunting two men after a spate of medicine thefts in Angus.

Two Co-op stores in Arbroath were looted on Monday, and the thefts are believed to be linked.

The first was the shop in Mayfield Terrace between 12.10pm and 12.20pm.

Two men were seen stealing a large quantity of various medicines and medical products to the value of £850.

At the Co-op in Timmergreens, the same two men swiped another haul of medicines and medical items to the value of £800.

Officers believe the two thefts are linked.


The first man described as white, around six foot tall and of slim to medium build with short, brown hair.

He was wearing a green hooded puffer jacket, black Adidas top, green cargo trousers, blue and white Puma trainers, a blue surgical face mask and carrying a green or blue shopping bag.

The second man is described as white, around five foot, eight inches tall and of a medium to stocky build with short brown hair.

He was wearing a black baseball cap, black biker jacket, blue jeans, black trainers and a blue surgical face mask, and carrying a yellow shopping bag.

A Tayside Police spokesperson said: "We would like to trace two men in connection with these incidents. If you have any information that could assist our investigation, please call 101 or speak with any police officer.

"Also, information can be given anonymously through CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111. Our reference is incident 1653 of October 5."
