Police are keen to speak to a chubby man with a ‘flat face’ who assaulted a woman while she was walking in Stockport.
The victim was walking on a path near Willow Avenue, in Cheadle, when a man who was passing pushed her over.
She now requires surgery after suffering an arm injury during the attack - which happened between 4pm and 5pm on Monday (February 1).
The man is described as being white, approximately 5ft 10in, over 30-years-old with short mousey or dark coloured hair.
He was of a “stocky/chubby” build and had a “flat” face, police say.
At the time of the incident, he was wearing a charcoal coloured jacket.
DC Laura Burgess, of GMP's Stockport district, is asking anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
She said: “The victim sustained an arm injury for which she is having surgery today.
“We hope that she will make a fast and full recovery.
“It's highly likely that there were others nearby at the time who saw this assault or the offender before or afterwards - I appeal to them to contact us or Crimestoppers anonymously.”
