Police hunt burglar who assaulted elderly woman in her own home then stole her keys

Police are hunting a burglar who assaulted an elderly woman and stole her house keys.

The woman, described as 'vulnerable', was at home shielding from the virus when the man struck in Radcliffe last night.

Officers say they are 'urgently' appealing for information.

The attacker is described as being white, and in his 20s.

He was said to be dressed in black, and wore a black face mask.

On the GMP Bury North Facebook page, officers said: "Police are urgently appealing for information regarding a burglary that occurred on Smyrna Walk, Radcliffe on 24/02/2021 at approximately 19:49hrs.

"The vulnerable victim is elderly and shielding from COVID. She was assaulted and then had her home keys stolen by a lone male offender.

"The male fled the scene quickly after the burglary. He is described as a white male, approx. in his 20s, dressed in all black with a black facemask and black coat.

"Anyone with information regarding this incident should contact police on 101, quoting log 2498-24022021."
