Police hunt Bolton man wanted after failing to appear in court over rape charges

Police have appealed for help in their search for a man who failed to appear in court over rape charges.

Officers believe Mohammed Imran Khawaja is 'actively evading arrest' and have issued an appeal to the public for information.

The 35-year-old is known to have links to Bolton.

He did not appear at Bolton Crown Court on Wednesday, February 24, in relation rape offences.

Police say he is not a wider risk to the public but have asked that anyone who may know his whereabouts come forward.

Officers believe he knows he is currently wanted.

They have published an image of Khawaja in an attempt to find him.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts can contact police on 0161 856 1319.

Alternatively, call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
