Police hunt attacker after man stabbed in leg and shoulder in Kenton

Police are looking for an attacker who stabbed a man in his shoulder and leg in Newcastle.

Officers were called to the stabbing outside on the street off Banbury Road in Kenton just after 7.30pm on Thursday.

There they found a man with injuries to his shoulder and leg believed to have been caused by a bladed weapon.

The 42-year-old victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

No arrests have been made and Northumbria Police say it is carrying out an investigation to find those involved.

Witnesses are asked to ring police as they gather information about what happened.
