Police hunt after robbery and assault on London-bound train

British Transport Police would like to speak to this man - (BTP)

Police are hunting for a man following an assault and robbery on a London-bound train.

The incident occurred at around 4.30am on Friday May 8 when a man and a group of friends boarded the train at St Albans station.

Once onboard, he began acting in an antisocial manner towards other passengers and grabbed a phone from another man’s hand as he walked past him.

The victim went after the man and managed to retrieve his phone, but was assaulted by the man as he did so.

The man continued down the train and left at Cricklewood station.

British Transport Police (BTP) officers have released an image of a man they would like to speak to regarding the incident.

Anyone who recognises the man has been urged to text BTP on 61016, or call 0800 40 50 40, using the reference 61 of May 8.

Alternatively, they can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
