Police hunt after car 'collided with officer' following report of assault at Nottingham club

A police hunt has been launched after a car collided with an officer as the driver left the scene following an incident at a Nottingham city centre club.

Nottinghamshire Police were called to reports door staff had been assaulted as a group tried to enter 101 Bar in St James' Street at around 1.40am on Saturday, September 19.

Having made off to nearby vehicles, an officer told the driver of one of the vehicles to stop.

But instead it allegedly came towards the officer and collided with him, causing bruising to his arm before leaving the area, police say.

Detectives are now actively working to track down those responsible.

Detective Sergeant Ian Holmes, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "My team are working around the clock, we’ve made substantial leads through the night and are working through numerous enquiries.

"The offender acted recklessly and could have seriously injured one of our officers or even an innocent bystander.

"We won't tolerate disorder and dangerous driving in Nottinghamshire and will leave no stone unturned in bringing finding those responsible."
